Welcome to the cricket coaching section of EARPSPORTS.

This section has been specifically arranged for simplicity and to be as clear as possible and easily understood so both players and coaches alike can take on board the intended message.

I have pinpointed my attentions to, a) technical skills and key basic principles that generally form the backbone of a players armoury, b) game plans and identifying basic low risk and high risk options to help players and coaches understand what areas demand our greater attention and, c) key coaching areas for coaches. Often our success as a coach is dependent as much on our relationship with our players and the respect earned, as our technical skills. Of course the greater our technical and tactical skills the better armed we are to support our players.

Other sports coaching sections will become available in time and again these are intended to cover key basic technical skills and principles and practical support in ‘how to play’ the game.

I am absolutely delighted that Marcus Trescothick has agreed to support the cricket coaching with his section “Batting with Banger”. It goes without saying that he has been a magnificent opening batsman for England and deservedly earned his position as one of the most successful batters in world cricket, in both test match and one day forms of the game.

His knowledge and ideas on batting are hugely interesting and you WILL find his batting sections of enormous value.

In addition to Marcus, we will have specialist coaching sections from time to time, whether it be fast bowling, spin bowling, wicket keeping, fielding or one day batting / bowling / fielding. 

“Ask the Coach” is a key section and your input is absolutely crucial to allow us to support you as a player or coach the best we can.
