FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Earpsports is still in its infancy but particular questions that have arisen already are:
Q. What's the catch?
A. There isn't one - seriously. Join up, pay your membership, submit your scores and you could win one of the great prizes on offer - that's it. The more that join, the greater the prizes and the more 'earpsports' can support clubs, schools and scholarship programmes.
Q. Do I need to join straight away?
A. No. You can join whenever you like, wait until you have had a great day and then join. As long as you join and submit your entry / performance before the Friday 11.59.59pm deadline, you'll be fine - and once you're in, that's it, you're in for the season.
Q. Can I backdate my performances if I am a late entry?
A. As long as you can prove your performances, we will backdate qualifying performances for monthly and annual competitions. However, once a weekly, monthly or seasonal competition has closed the backdated performances cannot win that competition. Proven backdated scores will count towards the current month and the current season.
Q. Do you comply with Royal and Ancient prize regulations?
A. Yes we do and we intend to retain the stipulated prize limit. We have no intention of challenging the golfing amateur status and have included a link to the Royal and Ancient rules of golf to confirm.
Q. How are performances validated?
A. Performance validation is explained in a particular section of the left hand menu. All performances have to be achieved in recognised competitions, allowing performances to be checked and verified, before awards are made. Winning players or clubs found submitting false scores will be disqualified for that winning period, whether it be a weekly, monthly or annual award. Unfortunately, mistakes will also result in disqualification, so scores must be thoroughly checked before submission.
